GAITHERSBURG, Md. – February 23, 2026 – U.S. Sen. Angela Alsobrooks (D-MD) has endorsed Jud Ashman’s campaign for Montgomery County Council, citing his record of success in ensuring Gaithersburg is a strong and welcoming community and his positive vision for making Montgomery County a stronger, more affordable place to live, work and raise a family.

“I’m supporting Jud Ashman because he has the experience, the record of success and the proven ability to build bridges needed to meet this moment,” Sen. Alsobrooks said.

“Sen. Alsobrooks has consistently shown herself to be a champion for middle-class families. From standing up to Donald Trump as our Senator to cutting crime as County Executive, she has always put our communities first. I’m proud to have her support,” Ashman said.

In addition to strong endorsements and support—from throughout Rockville, Gaithersburg, Washington Grove and beyond—Jud Ashman has raised over $130,000 (including public matching funds) from hundreds of Montgomery County residents who share his vision of a county that protects our values, respects every resident and is affordable for families and young people to live in.

Mayor Jud Ashman has a long history of fighting for our communities. He is a former PTA President, the founder of the Gaithersburg Book Festival and has served as Councilmember and Mayor in Gaithersburg for nearly 20 years. Jud and his wife have two grown children who are graduates of the Montgomery County Public Schools.

Jud is participating in Montgomery County’s public financing system, which means that he only takes contributions from individual donors. He does not accept donations from corporate or PAC interests.
